Description:
Early 2005 Steve Harris was looking for an artist for a commercial sequel to Blue Dragon, a 2003 freeware game of his that did quite well. That artist turned out to
be me. The development of this game, now called Turning the Tide (I don't have to tell you what the problem is of selling a game called Blue Dragon 2),
took over 4 years and contains more pixel-art than all my projects combined. Some graphics based on the original line-art for Blue Dragon, most of it new, it
was an ongoing pixel-art practise for me. The greatest challenge was the resolution of this game. All my games use small resolutions which make it pretty
easy to fill and decorate a screen. In 800x600 however it took ages to beat that desolate feel the early demo had. Another problem was staying in tune with the first
set of graphics I made. In 2005 I was less of a pixel artist than I am now (and still a long way to go too) so it was hard to keep drawing in the same style.
I am proud, and so should Steve be.
To showcase this project on my page I chose to provide the demo version. I do not want to force
anyone who visits my website to buy anything, but boy, it's worth its money.
